Symax Routes

Top  Previous  Next

A Symax route specification defines the path from the current network location through to a destination drop (symax device). The route is specified as a sequence of drop numbers separated by full stops/periods. The route specifications in Symax documentation include the starting drop number as part of the route, but the starting drop number should not be specified when using the MacroView symax implementation. The starting drop number is an implicit prefix in all route strings (see Station Configuration section and the -read command line parameter). Standard drop numbers range from 0 to 99 for a Symax network. Extended drop numbers (100-255) have additional extended functionality that is described in Symax device documentation.
